Since 1792, when Samuel Slater established the first American
textile mill in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, this area has had a rich
tradition in the textile industry. The same spirit of innovation that
inspired Slater to develop manufacturing techniques for spinning yarn
is carried on today at Murdock Webbing. Founded in 1936, not far from
Slater's original mill, Murdock Webbing began as a small company with
only ten employees and two looms. Over sixty-six years later we have
grown from two looms to two mills, and employ over 200 people. Quality
products, dependable delivery, and excellence in customer service
are the principles on which Murdock has grown. With patented innovations
and specialty products, Murdock continues to improve upon the tradition.
